[b]20TH JUNE 2019 ROYAL ASCOT PREVIEW
2.30 NORFOLK STAKES
This race was promoted to Group 2 status in 2006 and now is a much stronger contest than previous years although Johannesburg won in 2001 sire of Scat Daddy.
It is usually won by a precocious early season type who don't really progress (coincidentally a horse called Precocious won in 1983 for Henry Cecil) and the only names since 2001 who stick out are No Nay Never and 2007 Guineas 3rd Dutch Art who actually never won at 3 so its a case of something peaking as a juvenile

MY SELECTIONS
Win SUNDAY SOVEREIGN
EW EXPRESSIONIST
3.05 HAMPTON COURT STAKES
This is a good race usually for a Group 3 and is often won by somethig that performs well at a higher level the type to look for is usually an unexposed potential improver in the past as been won by Arc 2nd and Group 1 winner White Muzzle and more recently Group 1 winner Hawkbill

MY SELECTIONS
Win FOX CHAIRMAN
EW ROSEMAN
3.40 RIBBLESDALE STAKES
This is usually contested by fillies who got placed in the Oaks and improving types who weren't ready for Epsom it is often won by a decent filly who falls just short of being a genuine Group 1 performer and I think tomorrows race is no different

MY SELECTIONS
Win QUEEN POWER (I do have going concerns)
EW PEACH TREE
4.20 ASCOT GOLD CUP
A race for outright stayers with a bit of class usually types that can compete at a high Group level over middle distances it as a roll of honour better than any race at the meeting the most prolific winner being Yeats (who was fav for the 2004 Derby before being withdrawn due to injury)so thats what calibre you need if you get a class horse that stays Capri, Dee Ex Bee Flag Of Honour and Stradivarius a course specialist and last years winner they meet that criteria

MY SELECTIONS
Win NO SELECTION (due to going concerns)
EW CAPRI and FLAG OF HONOUR (both should be okay on the going)
5.00 BRITANNIA STAKES
Very difficult handicap often won by an unexposed type or a huge gamble so always keep an eye on the market some of the latest winners have been shipped to Hong Kong so its well worth winning this big prize and selling on for the owner
This years renewal looks really strong and there could definitely be a Group performer masquerading here I personally think Velorum if it handles conditions will be a good bet but its an unknown

MY SELECTIONS
Win VELORUM
EW HOT TEAM
5.35 KING GEORGE V STAKES
This is a very good race for a handicap and often as future Group level performers contesting but not always winning it is often a messy race with several hard luck stories so best to record and watch a rerun cause several winners will come out of it and always look for Mark Johnston horses cause he has a good record in this

MY SELECTIONS
Win SIR RON PRIESTLEY
EW SEVERANCE
